MARGARET KONIMA SESAY is an international advocate, trainer and researcher on Civil Society issues pertaining to Refugees, Social justice, Women’s Human Rights, Gender Based Violence, Harmful Traditional Practices, (F.G.M.) Socio-economic Empowerment, Development and Advancement of Women 

She also co-ordinates a Global Womens’ network that specialises in development and empowerment of women and in 2004 she launched the “STARS AWARDS” that acknowledges, recognises and celebrates the contributions and achievements of women who have helped to make a difference to the lives of others in their different communities. This inspirational event has been a platform of positive change for many communities, groups and organisations that she works with.

She holds a Masters degree in Refugee Studies from East London University, UK, several other professional trainings and qualifications including Understanding Women’s Human Rights from the London School of Economics and Political Science and presently finishing a PhD. in Refugee Care at the Essex University, Colchester, and the Tavistock Clinic, London, UK.   

My ambition, determination and personal experiences has led me on a positive, passionate and rewarding journey that has been dedicated and committed to working with women from diverse cultures, backgrounds and professions to utilise their potential and achieve positive goals that will help improve their quality of life and become valuable and respectable members of their communities.
