Yvette Jarvis


Yvette Jarvis is the first African American in the history of Greece to be elected to a public office. In 2002 she was elected to the Athens City ouncil. During her term as City Councillor she was a staunch advocate for Women’s right, Immigrants rights and the Handicapped. She developed a hotline for victims of Domestic Violence which has served over 8,000 women to date. She lobbied successfully for parliamentary laws on trafficking and DV. She initiated a bill for the hiring of the handicapped in the municipality and created numerous programs for immigrants and their successful integration into Greek society which included innovative language classes like “My Mom Learns Greek”, an information center offering legal advice ‘ Know Your Rights”, the FARE Football Tournament against racism and a Multi Ethnic Festival.

In 2006 she was appointed by the Mayor of Athens, Special Advisor on Immigration where she currently serves.

A true renaissance woman, a leader and champion for human rights she has been featured in People magazine, Ebony, Jet, Essence, New York Times, LA Times, London Times and is the recipient of numerous awards.

Yvette is a former professional basketball player, model, TV personality and concurrently a vocal artist to this day

Yvette M. Jarvis is a magna cum laude graduate of Boston University with a degree in Psychology and a Minor in Sociology.

She is married to American expert John Muller and they have one Son, John Jacob Shaquille Muller

They live and reside in Athens, Greece
